Skate punk dystopia, Larry Clark-tribute style, from Tyler the Creator.
Tyler, the Creator - Transylvania
Do not watch this if you’re easily offended. As you’ve probably read by now, Tyler’s music is incredibly intense and intentionally offensive. Well, this video by high5collective takes the tune and blows it the fuck up by putting cinema verité imagery to the messed up lyrics. It’s fearless. It’s depraved. It’s disgusting. But wow, it’s good in the same way that Harmony Korine’s film Kids is good.
Reality: this shit turns my stomach. If it doesn’t turn yours, something’s really wrong with you. But there is definitive value to having a strong visceral reaction to art. It makes you question things. It makes you draw lines around your own values. It challenges you to define your right and wrong. It is invigorating.
Or maybe, it really is just trash. Either way, this is bottom of the barrel in all the best ways possible.

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and the Flaming Lips do a mini concert outside of the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It’s simple, but you feel it. I, for one, got chills.

Favorite new trend: cinematic videos that play with the embed variables on Vimeo. This one for “Ultralord” from Ethereal is no exception
Cool track “Shredder” from indie rock band Jeff The Brotherhood. Odd composition that is the opposite of shredding, constantly throwing you off guard in a way that works here.
